Welcome to Hammonds Land & Cattle Company, Inc. (HLCC)! We are a proud, multigenerational farming family located in the heart of North Carolina. Our passion is rooted in local, sustainable farming.  

At our Hammonds Land & Cattle Company, Inc, we focus on producing exceptional Angus & Hereford-cross commercial cow/calf operations and ADCA-registered Irish Dexter breeding stock.  

We raise registered Irish Dexter cattle, celebrated for their superb milk production and high-quality pasture-raised beef. Our cattle are selected for qualities such as excellent disposition, conformation, superior meat quality, and A2/A2 milk genetics. Beef and dairy production are equally important in our operations. All of our Dexter cattle are registered with the American Dexter Cattle Association, ensuring their pedigree and genetic excellence.  

Our commercial cow/calf operation, based in Lumberton, NC, reflects the rich farming heritage established by my father, Ronald G. Hammonds. Over the last 50 years, we have consistently produced some of the finest North Carolina cows, prioritizing strong genetics, sustainable grazing practices, and ethical cattle management. We create our calves by crossbreeding Black Angus cows with Hereford bulls, leveraging 'hybrid vigor' to produce animals that are hardier, faster-growing, and more efficient than their purebred counterparts. Whether you're in need of replacement heifers, feeder calves, or breeding stock, our Hammonds Ranch has what you're looking for.  

In addition to our cattle, we proudly produce delicious pasture-raised pork. We prefer Berkshire pigs, known for their heritage breed qualities, which provide slow growth and rich-tasting pork thanks to their efficient use of pasture and forest.  

No farm can be complete without quality poultry, and we are currently making significant improvements to our commercial Perdue broiler houses. Stay tuned for updates on this development.
